Digitizing Demo and Training

Join us in the makerspace for a demonstration and training on a variety of equipment that converts old technology into new, digital formats. The components include vinyl, cassette tapes, VHS, DVD, CD, slides, photos and 8 mm film.

  • For more information on how you can be successful Digitizing your media and see what formats we can digitize take a look at our Getting Started Guide.
  • Upon completion of this training, attendees will be certified to reserve and use the equipment through our Library Calendar website.

  • All patrons, 10 and up should sign up individually.  Registration is required for all active and passive participants.
  • Children under the age of 10 are not allowed in the space.
  • Youth between 10-16 may use the space under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian who has completed a training session with the Makerspace staff.  Limit one youth per Adult.

Laser Cutting Demonstration and Training Session

Join us in the makerspace for a demonstration and training on the GlowForge Pro laser cutter.  The Glowforge laser cutter is a versatile desktop device that uses a laser to cut, engrave, and score a variety of materials such as wood, acrylic, leather, fabric, and more.

  • Attendees will learn how to design a file for successful engraving/cutting using Google SlidesPhotopea, or the Glowforge’s native design environment and how to safely and sustainably operate the Glowforge Pro laser engraver.

Custom Design Demonstration and Training Session

  • Attendees will gain an exposure for how the Cricut cutting machine can take digital designs created in the Cricut Design Space and print/cut their project onto sticker paper, vinyl, and other soft materials.

  • Attendees will learn about the art of Sublimation which uses heat to transfer graphics, like the ones taken with your phone, and transfer them to ‘blanks’ such as tee shirts, puzzles, mugs, and wood.
