Create a fun gift or keepsake when you personalize a jigsaw puzzle with a memorable photo or image. Learn new skills when you use the sublimation printer and heat press. Register to attend. Please don't be deterred if you fall onto the waitlist.

The Glowforge laser cutter is a versatile desktop device that uses a laser to cut, engrave, and score a variety of materials such as wood, acrylic, leather, fabric, and more. Attendees will learn how to design a file for successful engraving/cutting using Google Slides, Photopea, or the Glowforge’s native design environment and how to safely and sustainably operate the Glowforge Pro laser engraver. For more information on how you can be successful operating the Glowforge and for a list of approved materials take a look at our Getting Started Guide. Upon completion of this training, attendees will be certified to reserve and use the equipment through our Library Calendar website. ----------------- Age Requirements All patrons, 10 and up should sign up individually. Registration is required for all active and passive participants. Children under the age of 10 are not allowed in the space. Youth between 10-16 may use the space under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian who has completed a training session with the Makerspace staff. Limit one youth per Adult. Safety and use guidelines: Please follow the guidelines and sign the Patron Equipment Use Agreement and the Patron Code of Conduct while in the Makerspace. (Printed copies of the Use Agreement are available in the Makerspace) Closed-toe shoes are required in the makerspace. Attendees will gain an exposure for how the Cricut cutting machine can take digital designs created in the Cricut Design Space and print/cut their project onto sticker paper, vinyl, and other soft materials. After this… Attendees will learn about the art of Sublimation which uses heat to transfer graphics, like the ones taken with your phone, and transfer them to ‘blanks’ such as tee shirts, puzzles, mugs, and wood.
