Take a fascinating journey down memory lane when we visit one of the first factory stores in Connecticut. Historian Timothy LeBouthillier shares the the story of Myrtle Mills Factory Store, a knitting mill that helped shape Unionville’s and the Farmington Valley's history and left an indelible mark on the American retail landscape. Enjoy archival photos, advertisements, and anecdotes. Learn about the store's early beginnings and wartime contributions as well as post-war retail innovations. Attendees will have an opportunity to share memories.

About the presenter:

Timothy LeBouthillier, a lifelong resident of Unionville, Connecticut, has served in leadership positions in local community programs, historic preservation efforts and civic organizations including leadership with the Unionville Museum, Farmington Architectural Review Board, Unionville Village Improvement Association and campaign to save Unionville’s Suburban Park.

Tim has a comprehensive background in marketing and communications including as membership Director for The Hartford Club and Wadsworth Atheneum. He is now in the healthcare field was the Director of Marketing and Communications at The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for 20 years. He currently leads marketing and communications statewide for the Hartford HealthCare Behavioral Health Network, where he advocate for community mental health and wellbeing.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont, and a Master’s Degree in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University.
