More about the artist/instructor:
Susan Canavan has been making paper flowers since 2017, merging her interest in the arts with her love of gardening. She creates realistic, intricately detailed flowers using hand-cut crepe paper and wire. Additional coloring is achieved with pastels, paint, or dye. She enjoys the process of observing the details of the plant and figuring out how to construct it with paper. She has taken classes with several of the leading paper flower artists and has led classes at Granby Public Library.
Sue graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Illustration and has been a graphic designer both professionally as a book designer and as a volunteer through her work as a board member of the Friends of Holcomb Farm and the Granby Education Foundation, where she designs and produces all marketing materials for both organizations and has updated both organizations’ logos and visual identity.
You can see more of her work on her Instagram account: @mrsthankyou_studio where you can see what she’s working on and her finished pieces.
