Program Description

Event Details

The key to sustainable success is feeding the soil. Join Joe O'Grady, Farm Manager, Holcomb Farm, to learn about numerous soil management strategies utilized to promote sustainable success at Holcomb Farm. These include the use of tailored cover crops, crop rotation, and the application of soil supplements specifically formulated for Granby fields based on soil analysis and testing.  Hear about Holcomb Farm's current collaboration/study with The American Farmland Trust. After the presentation, welcome special guest Dr. Josh Anderson, Holcomb Farm friend and author of the soon-to-be-released book "Soil Horizons."  Dr. Anderson will be available to answer questions regarding soil health and conservation efforts. Register to attend.

Sponsored by Granby Public Library, Granby Conservation Commission, and The Friends of Holcomb Farm.

Important Update a/o Monday, February 23:

We recently arranged for the presentation to be recorded and subsequently aired via Granby Community Television (Cox Community Cable Channel 16). The program will not be offered via Zoom February 24, but will be available to watch within the week via GCTV.
