Celebrate National Pollinator Week (June 16 - 22, 2025) when you learn to do four simple things in the yard and garden to help bring back the pollinators. Register to attend.

Sponsored by Friends of the Granby of the Granby Wildflower Meadow, Granby Conservation Commission, and Granby Public Library.

Additional information:
Pollinators and other insects are necessary for the reproduction of over 85% of the world’s flowering plants including more than two-thirds of the world’s crop species. The fruits and seeds derived from insect pollination are a major part of the diet of birds and mammals.  Pollinators are at risk from habitat loss, pesticide use, and introduced diseases. The presentation will focus on basic ecology of important native pollinators and offer simple steps to encourage pollinator survivability. There will be ample time for questions and answers at the end of the program.

About the presenter:
Lisa Newell is an Ambassador for the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, a volunteer education and outreach role.  She has a master’s degree in Public Health and has spent the last 20+ years as a professional gardener, lecturer and grower of native plants.  In 2022 Lisa started Rewild, a native plant nursery in Canton.
